Texas Transportation Code, Chapter 686 (Valet Parking Services)

A person may not operate a valet parking service unless financial responsibility for each employee who operates a motor vehicle for the service is established (Sec. 686.002).

  • Motor vehicle liability insurance: $100,000 bodily injury/death one person per collision; $300,000 bodily injury/death two or more persons per collision; $50,000 property damage per collision (Sec. 686.004)
  • OR comprehensive general liability insurance: $300,000 combined single limit, plus garage insurance $300,000 combined single limit covering physical damage, vehicle storage, and valet-operated vehicles (Sec. 686.004)
  • OR surety bond under Sec. 601.121
  • OR deposit of $450,000 under Sec. 601.122

A person may not operate a valet parking service unless financial responsibility for each employee who operates a motor vehicle for the service is established through: (1) a motor vehicle liability or comprehensive general liability and garage insurance policy in an amount established by Section 686.004; (2) a surety bond filed under Section 601.121; or (3) a deposit in the amount of $450,000 under Section 601.122
